My generation is to blame

For Australia’s National shame

We cannot say we did not know

We ignored and let it go

Our politicians sold us out

We didn’t even raise a shout

As total puppets we became

Used in another nations game

Globalisation is the name

Trying to make a claim to fame

Pillage and plunder all they can

While our government  bleeds the land

Taken away our hard earned fights

With no regard for civil rights

Sold off our amenities

‘Cept for the ones that do not please

People just have no say today

And like our lambs their led astray

I have to say that kids today

Feel like they need to get away

To get degrees they now must pay

Just to get a job without fair play

That’s the injustice of the day

Others thrive while we fall away

My generation don’t forget

Bout Australia’s shame and debt

Rally the kids and feel OK

To guide them thru’ their work and play

Australia was democracy

Till one man made a drastic change

Australia it’s not too late

                                   To hide our shame and make a change
